Commercial use does not mean the licence is for sale or rent

A commercial station licence allows an organisation to use FlightSim Control as part of its own paid or organisational simulator operations. It does not allow the software, subscription, activation, or licence rights themselves to be sold, rented, leased, lent, sublicensed, redistributed, or provided to another person or organisation.

1. Scope

This Licence Use Policy supplements the Terms of Service and applies to every FlightSim Control subscription, trial, complimentary entitlement, protected release, and activated Windows or macOS application. If a signed order form expressly grants different rights, that order form controls only for the stated customer, stations, term, and permitted use.

FlightSim Control is licensed, not sold. Purchasing a subscription gives the account holder defined rights to use the software during the entitlement period; it does not transfer ownership of the software or any intellectual property.

2. Personal licences

A personal licence is for one individual's private, non-commercial use. It may be used for personal simulation, self-study, practice, and unpaid instruction within a private setting on the device or devices included in the selected platform plan.

A personal licence may not be used by a flight school, simulator centre, training provider, club, airline, operator, company, public body, consultant, or other organisation; in business premises or a shared simulator facility; to provide paid instruction, checking, assessment, simulator hire, or customer sessions; or for another revenue-generating or organisational purpose. Those uses require a commercial station licence or a separate signed agreement.

3. Commercial station licences

A commercial station licence is granted to the named legal entity or organisation and permits FlightSim Control to be operated in that organisation's commercial or shared simulator environment. Unless an order form states otherwise, each entitlement covers one active simulator computer on the licensed operating system.

Authorised employees, contractors, instructors, examiners, and students may use FlightSim Control on the licensed station for the organisation's permitted activities. Human users do not consume separate seats merely because they rotate through the same licensed simulator station. The organisation remains responsible for their use.

4. Permitted commercial use

Subject to the subscription, device allowance, product capability, and these policies, a commercial station licence permits the organisation to use FlightSim Control:

  • to deliver paid or unpaid simulator instruction, familiarisation, practice, evaluation, or demonstration sessions;
  • as an instructor tool during customer access to the organisation's own licensed simulator station;
  • for internal employee, contractor, instructor, or operational training;
  • during simulator-centre, club, school, operator, exhibition, or sales-demonstration activities; and
  • for other internal commercial purposes agreed in the applicable plan or signed order form.

The organisation may charge for instruction, simulator time, or a broader service delivered using its licensed station. FlightSim Control must remain an incidental tool operated under the organisation's control and may not be represented as a separately rented or transferred product.

5. No sale, rental, or redistribution

Neither personal nor commercial licence rights are transferable commercial inventory. You must not sell, rent, lease, lend, sublicense, assign, distribute, publish, host, time-share, or otherwise make FlightSim Control, its installer, account, activation, protected download, licence token, or access credentials available to another person or legal entity.

You must not bundle a FlightSim Control licence for onward sale or rental with hardware, a simulator, managed service, franchise, membership, or other product; operate it as a hosted software service; white-label it; or permit another business to use your entitlement. Hardware integrators, resellers, franchise operators, managed-service providers, and white-label partners require a separate written agreement from Evolve Orbit.

6. Stations and activations

A station is the simulator computer on which the native FlightSim Control application runs and controls a supported simulator installed on that same operating system. One commercial Windows entitlement permits one active Windows station; one commercial macOS entitlement permits one active Mac station. A dual-platform entitlement permits the exact Windows and Mac allowances stated in the order.

Additional simultaneously active simulator computers require additional station entitlements. Displays, touchscreens, projectors, controls, and cockpit peripherals attached to one licensed computer do not consume additional station entitlements. A device may be replaced or transferred within the same licensed organisation using the customer portal or support, subject to reasonable security and anti-abuse checks. A transfer does not permit concurrent use on the previous computer.

7. Organisation responsibility

The organisation must designate an authorised account owner, keep billing and contact information accurate, control team access, remove access when a person leaves or changes role, and ensure that only authorised people use licensed stations. Credentials and activation codes must not be shared between people or published.

The organisation is responsible for its simulator equipment, third-party licences, instructor qualifications, session design, trainee supervision, records, regulatory obligations, and claims made to customers. A commercial licence does not certify the simulator, approve a training programme, confer training credit, or indicate approval by an aviation authority, aircraft manufacturer, simulator provider, or airline.

8. Trials and evaluation

A trial or evaluation entitlement is temporary, revocable, and limited to evaluation of product suitability. It may not be resold, transferred, used to avoid payment, or repeatedly obtained through different accounts or organisations. Unless we confirm otherwise in writing, a trial does not permit production commercial operation or customer-facing paid sessions.

9. Compliance and enforcement

We may verify entitlement type, platform, active station count, device identity, organisation ownership, and material compliance with this policy. We may request information reasonably needed to resolve a suspected mismatch. Where practical, we will allow an organisation to correct an accidental licensing error.

We may restrict activation, revoke a device, suspend an entitlement, or terminate access for material or repeated violations, fraud, unauthorised resale or rental, credential sharing, circumvention, or non-payment. Mandatory consumer rights and remedies are not limited by this policy.

10. Commercial enquiries

Use the commercial licensing form to describe the organisation, platforms, number of active simulator stations, locations, and intended use. Evolve Orbit will confirm the station allowance and commercial rights in the subscription or order form before activation.
